WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Reiki is an energy healing treatment that works holistically; on the whole body, mind and spirit. "Healing through the hands". Through the Christian faith it is known as "laying of hands".

IS REIKI A RELIGION?

Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST SESSION?

The most common experience is an almost immediate release of stress and a feeling of deep relaxation. Reiki is cumulative and even people who don't notice much the first time usually have progressively deeper experiences if they continue.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST TREATMENT?

Eat and Hydrate

You may eat a small snack or meal prior to your session is important for your comfort and focus levels. If you are full, hungry or thirsty, you will be uncomfortable and unable to focus on the healing.

However, try to avoid eating a heavy meal otherwise your body will be using its energy to digest, rather than directing it at your treatment.

Be comfortable

It is recommended you wear comfortable clothes to your session. You may be lying down or sat in a chair for the session, so comfort is important. Take socks with you in case  you are required to remove your shoes and don’t want your feet to get cold.

AFTER MY SESSION

Please drink plenty of water to hydrate your body as your body’s energy system may be moving at a more optimum rate, so please care for yourself with water and healthy food during the day. The water will cleanse your energetic and physical body. It is beneficial to spend some quiet time that day or evening after your session to journal or to contemplate as you may have some insights and further mental clarity as your body continues to process the Reiki session.

HOW MANY SESSIONS SHOULD I HAVE?

One session is a great start! You will see for yourself how Reiki makes you feel, if it is relaxing, if you feel more clarity after the session. Many people, after trying one session, go on to purchase a series of sessions to progressively work on their current wellness goals.
